Our History
The Franco Fortini® story begins in 1967, when founder Franco Fortini opened his first shoe store in Los Angeles, California. As an Italian immigrant, Franco brought his expertise in European shoemaking to the US market.
The brand quickly gained a reputation for excellent craftsmanship and sophisticated style. Franco focused on timeless designs that could transition seamlessly from work to weekends. Using premium leathers and attention to detail, each pair reflected his dedication to quality.
Word spread, and soon Franco Fortini® was being sold in high-end department stores across the country. The 70s and 80s were a period of rapid growth for the company. As Franco’s sons joined the business, they expanded the product line to include more casual and athletic styles.
In the 90s, the brand embraced Italian roots with fashion-forward boots and dress shoes. Dynamic new patterns and textures showed off the artistry of the Fortini workshop. Even classic oxfords and loafers were updated with bold colors and unique accents.
Today, Franco Fortini® is still owned and operated by the Fortini family. Franco’s commitment to excellence lives on in every pair of shoes produced. Modern technology combines with old-world quality control to deliver footwear made to measure up to your active lifestyle.
